If you have a business and need to advertise it online, the first thing you should do is create a website. Once you have a website, you need to find a way to get people to look at your website. That is where search engine marketing and Google Adwords come in. Search engine marketing utilizes search engine optimisation to get more people to look at your website. Search engine marketing accomplishes this by placing certain keywords and content on your website. Search engines will pick up these keywords and hopefully bump your website to the top of the results list, so when people search for something, they will see your website first and click on it. The whole process is called search engine optimisation. Some search engine optimisation companies practice a deceptive form of this called keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is when someone stuffs their website full of keywords that have nothing to do with the site itself. For example, if someone’s website sells socks, but they use keywords like “piano,” then people searching for pianos will stumble across this website even though they were not searching for it. If you do not want to work with a company and would prefer to do your own advertising, consider using Google Adwords. Google Adwords works by allowing you to create your own advertisement. You provide Google with keywords relating to your ad, and then Google will place your ad on the side of the page when someone searches for your keyword.
