A website without visibility is dead in the water. You need search engine marketing, search engine optimisation, and Google Adwords to make your site stand out from the crowd.

Search engine marketing is basically using search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN and getting ranked with them so your customers can find you. It depends on the keywords you choose for your search terms. Making sure you have the right combination of keywords is important in search engine marketing. Also getting as close to the top of the search engine rankings is vital to the success of your website. You want to be on the first page for whatever keywords you have chosen.

Search engine optimisation is making sure your website has all the key elements that will make it rank well in the search engines when the spiders crawl your website. You need fresh content with your keywords planted strategically throughout your website. Search engine optimisation is not an exact science since the search engines change their algorithms frequently; you need to be able to optimize your website for these changes.

Google Adwords will also help in your campaign for customers. Google Adwords is a search engine ranking done on a pay-per-click basis. You create a short description with a link to your website and bid on search terms. The more popular the search term the more you pay.
All of these method combined should give your website great visibility and potentially more customers which equals more sales.
